Study on Supercritical CO2 Fluid Extraction of Tussah Male Moth Oil

Study on Supercritical CO2 Fluid Extraction of Tussah Male Moth Oil

Supercritical CO2 fluid extraction technology and equipment were used to extract the oil from male tussah moth. Four factors and three levels of orthogonal experiment were used to study the effects of extraction pressure, temperature, time and CO2 flow rate on the extraction rate of male tussah moth oil. The optimum extraction conditions were obtained as follows: extraction pressure 30 MPa, extraction temperature 35 C, extraction time 5 hr (including static extraction 2 hr), CO2 flow rate 80 g/min. Under these conditions, the extraction rate of oil from male tussah moth was 29.89%. The fatty acid composition of tussah male moth oil was analyzed.
